What Does Lockdown 2 Mean For Birmingham Airport?
All airport staff will be wearing face coverings within the terminal building. Plastic shields are in place to reduce of face-to-face contact between customers and colleagues. In high-security areas, where social distancing is possible, colleagues will have periods of time without face coverings.
An enhanced cleaning regime with an advanced disinfectant spray has been implemented throughout the Birmingham airport terminal.
Thermal imaging is being trialled with cameras conducting temperature checks at the terminal entrance. You are asked not to visit the airport if you are experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus or have a high temperature.
Visitors are asked to do five key things, which are clearly displayed throughout the airport.
- Wash your hands with soap and water or use the provided hand sanitisers
- Wear a face covering in the airport
- Use the floor markings to ensure social distancing
- Cover your mouth and nose with a sleeve or tissue if you coughing or sneeze and then discard the tissue
- Make contactless payments wherever possible, pre-book services, and check-in online

Due to the infection rate overseas, people entering the UK from certain countries must self-isolate for 14 days after their arrival into the UK. Currently, these are:
- Croatia
- Cyprus
- France
- Italy
- Poland
- Portugal
- Slovakia
- Spain
- The Netherlands
- Turkey
You must complete a Passenger Locator Form before arriving in the UK from anywhere except the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
