The 2024 Cinch Championships take place from 19th to 25th June 2023. The tournament is held annually as part of the ATP Tour. It is one of the most popular long-running tennis events in the world.
First established in 1889 and traditionally held at The Queen’s Club in West Kensington, London in June, it consistently sees the best singles and doubles players of the men’s game playing one another.
The Queen’s Club
The Queen’s Club is named after its first patron, Queen Victoria, and is regarded by many as one of the finest Lawn Tennis and Racquets clubs in the whole world. It opened for business in 1887 after an 11-acre site was converted from market gardens and a cricket pitch.
The club is now associated mainly with tennis and racquet sports, but it was also the first great multi-sport venue in London, hosting annual Oxford vs Cambridge rugby, football and athletics challenges. Back in 1895, 20,000 saw England play a football international against Wales at the Queen’s Club, which was also one of the main venues for the 1908 London Olympics. The Queen’s Club Championships has been held since 1890. The tournament was originally held at Stamford Bridge between 1884 and 1889.
Since 1979, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras, Rafael Nadal, Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Murray have all won The Queen’s Club Championships and Wimbledon in the same year.
