Access needs checking in advance at any venue that has not been used before, because a coach that cannot reach the intended set-down point creates a longer walk than the group expected. Working Out What a Group Actually Needs
The most useful conversation we have with group organisers is rarely about vehicle size at all. It is about where everybody is starting from, what time the party wants to arrive, whether everybody intends to leave together, and how much luggage is involved. Those four answers determine the arrangement far more reliably than the headcount does. A party of twelve leaving from a single address to attend a match and returning together is a straightforward single-vehicle job. A party of twelve scattered across four towns with different return intentions is a different problem entirely, and one that several smaller vehicles solve better.
Long-Distance Group Travel
For away days beyond the region, the vehicle choice shifts again. A journey of three hours or more in each direction makes comfort the dominant consideration, and the difference between a well-appointed coach and a cramped one is felt acutely by the end of the return leg. Facilities matter on longer runs, as does the ability to make a proper stop rather than a hurried one.
