As we prepare for the second lockdown coming into force this Thursday, we at Manner Borne want to take a moment to update you on the procedures we have in place to ensure the safety of both our customers and our team. Following the announcement from the Prime Minister on Saturday, it has become clear that we must adapt our operations in line with the latest government COVID-19 guidance.

The government has implemented this second lockdown as a necessary measure to combat the rising cases of COVID-19 across the country. While it is undoubtedly a challenging time for everyone, it is crucial that we all do our part to protect ourselves and each other. Key Rules from the Government’s Lockdown 2 Announcement

Travel Restrictions

The government advises that travel should be avoided both within and outside your local area unless absolutely necessary. There are, however, a number of permitted exceptions. Those whose jobs cannot be performed from home are permitted to travel to work, as are individuals attending educational institutions or fulfilling caring responsibilities for those who need assistance. Travel is also permitted for medical appointments, including visits to hospitals, GP surgeries, or other medical facilities in the event of an accident or health concern. Additionally, essential retail visits to venues that remain open are allowed, as is travel required to engage in physical exercise where a short journey is necessary.
Weddings and Civil Partnerships
During this lockdown period, weddings and civil partnership ceremonies will not be permitted except in exceptional circumstances. This restriction aims to limit gatherings and reduce potential virus transmission.
Entertainment Venues Closure
All entertainment venues will close during this lockdown phase. This includes theatres, cinemas, concert halls, museums, galleries, adult gaming centres, arcades, casinos, bingo halls, bowling alleys, zoos, botanical gardens, and similar attractions. Furthermore, top-level sports matches will continue but behind closed doors without spectators.

We encourage customers to reach out via phone or email for any inquiries, and where face-to-face interactions are permitted, strict safety protocols will be enforced, including social distancing measures and mandatory face coverings. We are also committed to keeping our customers informed about any changes regarding service availability and updates from local authorities as the situation develops.
